Senator Jen Jordan received heavy criticism on Wednesday for referring to Texas Native and Political Organizer Ali Alexander as “a Sammy Davis Jr. look alike” on Twitter.
In her since-deleted tweet, Jordan said: “Surreal. Echoing Lin Wood, a Sammy Davis Jr. look-alike is telling rally goers to be at the state capital tomorrow morning at 9 am for state senate hearings. ”
Twitter users quickly lambasted the senator.
Ali Alexander responded to the racist senator:
“The comment is entirely unacceptable and has no place in American politics,” said Political Scientist Jason Perry. “This sort of racism would be unacceptable from anyone, but from a member of the state senate, action must be taken.”
Ali is a well-known conservative political consultant and the lead organizer of the ‘Million MAGA March” which also went by ‘Stop The Steal’, a rally held in Washington DC on Nov. 14.
Jordan has not apologized for her statement.
