A new super PAC launched on Friday to help Joe Biden win Texas as the state looks increasingly like a battleground in November.
In a video that went live Friday, the newly formed Blue Texas PAC, said it plans a major advertising push to shore up the presumptive Democratic nominee, where the latest polls show a dead heat between Trump and Biden in the Lone Star State.
“For decades, progressives in Texas have fought to turn Texas blue,” the group’s co-founder, Kim Taylor, said in a statement. “We have never had a better opportunity. Blue Texas has a clear focus: to flip Texas in 2020. We are a Texas born, Texas-bred campaign that intends to raise the funds and communicate with voters to get rid of Donald Trump in November.
With a focus on paid media, the super PAC is promising that every donation it receives “goes right back out the door to ensure Texas voters get the swing-state level attention that this moment calls for.”
Will the Democrats Blue-Texas forever dream become a reality?
Trump Campaign Deputy National Press Secretary Samantha Zager doesn’t think so.
“Democrats like to pretend Texas is on the table, but they know that’s a joke – just ask Governor Wendy Davis, Senator Beto O’Rourke and President Hillary Clinton,” she told Salon in an email, in an attempt to comedically mock the defeats of three recent high-profile candidates.
