Turner asked residents to not “get mad” at police officers, asserting, “It’s all about public health and driving our numbers down.”

“There are too many street parties, house, parties, zydeco’s on the corners, backyard parties, and more happening in our city especially when individuals are not wearing masks,” Turned tweeted.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed an executive order in July calling for residents to wear face coverings in public areas.
Recent data shows 451,181 positive cases in Texas since the pandemic began, with 7,261 fatalities and 137,658 recoveries.  Harris County leads the state in the number of positive cases that have been reported.
