With several workers of Houston-area restaurants being diagnosed with COVID-19 in the weeks following the reopening of restaurants in Texas, several businesses are opting to close shop.
Many are having their establishment deep cleaned and sanitized and requiring employees to be tested for the novel coronavirus.
Here’s what we know about the status of the following restaurants:
- Coltivare — Coltivare posted on Facebook Wednesday morning:
Coltivare will be temporarily closed until further notice. A member of our staff has been in close contact with a positive case of COVID-19 so we are taking every precaution to keep our staff and our guests safe. Our building will be professionally sanitized during our closure while our entire staff gets tested for COVID-19. Those results will dictate how quickly we are able to re-open, but the well being of the people we are closest to is the most important thing. Stay safe and stay tuned.
Daddy’s Burgers — June 17:
Effective immediately and out of an abundance of caution Clark Cooper Concepts will close Daddy’s Burgers at The Dunlavy for the next two weeks due to a positive case of COVID 19. The safety of our team and guests is our highest priority during this time. We are taking precautionary steps at all Clark Cooper Concepts to test our employees to ensure a safe environment for all of our staff and customers. We thank you for your understanding and we look forward to serving you again soon.
Front Porch Pub — June 12:
Dear Front Porch Pub Guests,
One of our management team tested positive for Coronavirus. No other employees are showing symptoms at this time; however, for the safety of our guests and employees, we have decided to close our doors until further notice.
Nobie’s — June 10:
To our Nobie’s community and supporters: We will temporarily close as one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing symptoms during the last couple of days when we are generally closed. We are thankful this individual is responsible and forthcoming so that we could take action immediately. The employee does NOT come in contact with any guests as they work back of house. Currently, no other staff members are experiencing symptoms.
Pappy’s Cafe — June 14:
We have been informed that one of our employees has tested positive for Covid-19. Out of an abundance of caution and CDC guidance, we have sent the employee home and will be temporarily closing Pappy’s (including to-go service) for professional sanitization of the entire restaurant. The safety of our customers and staff is our #1 priority and we look forward to welcoming y’all back soon!
Relish Restaurant and Bar — Temporarily closed since June 12 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The restaurant will test all of its employees and sanitize the space before reopening.
Taste of Texas — June 13
We have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Taste of Texas out of an abundance of caution due to a positive Covid-19 test by a team member. We take the health and safety of our precious customers and team members very seriously, and have taken every precaution to keep you all safe. These precautions include team daily temperature checks, testing, mandatory health questionnaires, constant hand washing, mask and glove wearing, meticulous deep cleanings, and use of air purification devices throughout the restaurant. Once 100 percent testing of our Taste of Texas team is complete, we will reopen. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Taste of Texas very soon!
