Texas retirement community roll out a ‘social distancing’ parade (video)

Social distancing has lead many communities around the nation to create innovative ways to connect to one another as cities across the country lock down to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

To help spread cheer to their 55 and better residents, the staff at Watercrest at Shadow Creek Ranch located in Pearland, Tx hosted a car parade and activities including a luau with staff singing and dancing by the pool performing a cute song about washing your hands.

“With face-to-face interaction being limited, we wanted to show our residents how special they are to us while practicing the 6-foot social distancing rule,” said Executive Director Caroline Alcantar.  “We had fun.  They had fun and they needed social interaction. Our staff loves our residents.”

Residents joined in on the fun dancing and waving from their patios with posters reading “Thank You” hanging on their balcony.
