In crowded animal control facilities, pets who are “owner surrenders” are put down first – even if they are puppies. Such is the case for a darling pup who was surrendered to the Harris County Animal Shelter on March 12.
The American Pit Bull Terrier, named Mickey, is clearly frightened and confused and who could blame him? He has suddenly lost his home and family. He is in an unfamiliar kennel run surrounded by the barks and cries of other equally scared and confused dogs.
The shelter is at full capacity and his euthanasia date is set for March 15 unless he finds a new family or foster.
