Local resident saves shelter dog from death row

Time was running out for a 2-year-old dog after he was sent to a crowded shelter in Harris County and slated to be euthanized.

On February 29, My Pearland News published a story that went viral about a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever who desperately needed a foster or adopter to save him.

Thankfully, a kind person learned of the dog’s sad fate and went to the shelter to rescue him.

“I’m on my way to adopt him now,” said Elizabeth Parker.  “

“And, thank you for posting because I am soooooooo in love but I would’ve never known about him without your post.”

On March 2, Elizabeth adopted the pup and shared photos with MPN of him living his best life. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Elizabeth for sharing and opening up your heart and home to this sweet pup!

Please know this pup isn’t the only dog that’s at risk of being euthanized. There are so many unwanted pets that the shelters simply can’t keep up. They are good people trying their best to find animals’ homes but unless the community steps up, there is no other choice. This is a reminder to have your pets spayed or neutered. Foster unwanted animals and donate your time and money to help keep shelters operational.
