Pearland neighbors on high alert amid theft suspect search

Right now– the power of Facebook is uniting a community—trying to catch masked thieves caught on camera attempting to break into cars in the Woodcreek subdivision.

Another resident, Laynie Cade posted video footage capturing the moment outside her home on Woodcreek Drive when the masked thief checks to see if her cars in the driveway are locked. Luckily, they were; but towards the end of the video you will see a second man wearing a mask checking the cars parked across the street — which belongs to Layni’s neighbor.

“We will not be terrorized in our own homes,” says Layni.  “They came to the wrong neighborhood, we are patrolling our streets and we are armed.”

The thieves were first spotted in the Pearland community on Sunday night and police reports were filed.

Pearland Police Department posted on Facebook a few tips for homeowners:

It’s 9pm have you:

  1. removed the valuables from your vehicle
  2. locked doors of your vehicle
  3. closed and locked garage and all home doors
  4. turned porch lights on

…make this your routine every night!

If you recognize the masked men, please contact the Pearland Police Department at 281-997-4100.
