James Brawner is vying for the position of Brazoria County Pct. 4 constable, where he currently works as a Narcotic Investigations Sergeant for the Brazoria County’s Sherriff department. The precinct includes the Pearland area.
“I am a lifelong resident of Brazoria County and and graduated from Danbury High School. Upon graduation, I entered in the United States Navy where I received a formal education in aircraft mechanics and specialized in working on F/A-18 Hornets. I was assigned to a squadron that deployed to the Middle East and Persian Gulf,” Brawner saids. “I returned home from the military in 1995 with a renewed commitment in protecting the freedom we hold dear and that is why I choose to pursue a career in law enforcement and began working for the Brazoria County Sheriff’s office in 1999. I have enjoyed the experience of working narcotics as well as the great opportunity to work with other law enforcement agencies such as the Drug Enforcement Administration and Pearland Police Department. Together, we have been able to make a significant impact on slowing the flow and arresting narcotic traffickers that are utilizing Brazoria County as a place to store, and sell their poison to our families and children.”
He has served in numerous divisions in Brazoria County including jail, patrol, crime scene investigations, swat, and narcotics and was promoted to Sergeant in 2009.
Brawner is a popular candidate and is endorsed by many including the Texas Narcotic Officers Association, making him the first candidate to receive an endorsement by TNOA , a statewide organization of appoximately 3500 officers.
Brawner is married to his best friend, Holly who is a fifth grade math teacher. Together they have an 8 year old son and a 4 year old daughter.
James stays busy in his community and is a member of many organizations including Board Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of the Brazoria Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, Sweeny Chamber of Commerce, West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Texas Municipal Police Association, Brazoria County Peace Officers Association, Texas Tactical Officers Association, Texas State Rifle Association, Brazoria County Fair Association, Little League Board member and a regular sponsor and volunteer in area fundraisers.
Brawner states, “This is an important race for our community and you have a rare opportunity to elect a person with both verifiable Law Enforcement and Leadership experience. You have to choose wisely when you are electing a candidate who will be in your neighborhood and on your streets and that is why I take this campaign so seriously and why I welcome your support and am asking for your vote.”
James Brawer will be on the Republican ticket in the March 2016 primary and is asking Pct. 4 residents for their votes.
